Abstract:
We use actual data for a nonlinear parameter identification problem to illustrate the importance of proper validation and interpretation of Bayesian and frequentist methods for parameter estimation. The talk will illustrate the use of different statistical tools for data analysis. The message of the talk is that different statistical methods used soundly should lead to consistent results.
